1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the PicSweep Chrome extension or visiting the PicSweep website ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PicSweep is a Chrome browser extension that helps users identify and manage duplicate, near-duplicate, and blurry photos in their Google Photos and iCloud Photos libraries. The Service uses perceptual hashing and image analysis techniques to detect similar images. For Google Photos, PicSweep works with your library on photos.google.com. For iCloud Photos, PicSweep works with your library on icloud.com/photos.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features, you may need to authenticate. For Google Photos support, PicSweep uses Google Sign-In with your Google account. For iCloud Photos support, PicSweep uses Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Free and Premium Tiers

  • Free Tier: Provides up to 1000 photo hash operations per day at no cost.
  • Premium Tier: A one-time payment that provides unlimited hash operations and additional features. Payments are processed through Polar.sh and are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Circumvent any usage limits or access controls
  • Use automated tools to access the Service beyond normal usage
  • Share, resell, or redistribute your Premium access to others

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its code, design, and content, is the intellectual property of PicSweep and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You retain all rights to your photos and personal data.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. All image analysis is performed client-side (in your browser). We do not store, transmit, or access your photos on our servers.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PicSweep shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data or photos.

10. Photo Deletion Disclaimer

PicSweep assists in identifying potentially duplicate or low-quality photos. The final decision to delete any photo rests entirely with you. PicSweep is not responsible for any photos deleted by the user through the Service. We strongly recommend reviewing all selections before confirming deletion.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
